چکیده

SenseCam is a wearable digital camera that automatically takes pictures due to timers or sensorbased triggers. We propose using a compass sensor to trigger picture-taking, and detail our implementation of this idea as an add-on module for the SenseCam. We also describe a method for comparing triggering algorithms for SenseCam using a video recorder and video annotation software. We use this method to conduct a preliminary evaluation of compass-based triggering, and show a significant increase in the number of “independent views” captured.

The effects of end-of-day picture review and a sensor-based picture capture procedure on autobiographical memory using SenseCam.

Emerging "life-logging" technologies have tremendous potential to augment human autobiographical memory by recording and processing vast amounts of information from an individual's experiences. In this experiment undergraduate participants wore a SenseCam, a small, sensor-equipped digital camera, as they went about their normal daily activities for five consecutive days. Pictures were captured ...

The use of a wearable camera, SenseCam, as a pictorial diary to improve autobiographical memory in a patient with limbic encephalitis: a preliminary report.

This case study describes the use of a wearable camera, SenseCam, which automatically captures several hundred images per day, to aid autobiographical memory in a patient, Mrs B, with severe memory impairment following limbic encephalitis. By using SenseCam to record personally experienced events we intended that SenseCam pictures would form a pictorial diary to cue and consolidate autobiograph...

Using Bluetooth & Gps Metadata to Measure Event Similarity in Sensecam Images

The Microsoft SenseCam is a small multi-sensor camera worn around the user’s neck. It was designed primarily for lifelog recording. At present, the SenseCam passively records up to 3,000 images per day as well as logging data from several on-board sensors. The sheer volume of image and sensor data captured by the SenseCam creates a number of challenges in the areas of segmenting whole day recor...

Content vs. Context for Multimedia Semantics: The Case of SenseCam Image Structuring

Much of the current work on determining multimedia semantics from multimedia artifacts is based around using either context, or using content. When leveraged thoroughly these can independently provide content description which is used in building content-based applications. However, there are few cases where multimedia semantics are determined based on an integrated analysis of content and cont...
